Following the introduction of Lumpy skin disease (LSD) in South-East Asia, the affected countries are implementing various measures to control LSD, mainly through the use of vaccination, and those countries at the risk of LSD incursion are also implementing various preventive measures. Several affected countries implemented vaccination of cattle and water buffalo against LSD as the primary means to stop the spread of LSD and to minimize cattle production losses caused by outbreaks. These countries have demonstrated their successful experience in controlling LSD which showed dramatic decrease of outbreaks after using vaccination.
