OIE Regional Workshop on Swine Disease Diagnosis

The workshop was organised by OIE Regional Representation for Asia and the Pacific (OIE RRAP) in collaboration with OIE Reference Laboratory for PRRSV on 30-31 October 2019 in Beijing, China. The meeting was participated by representatives from China, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, experts from CSIRO – Australian Animal Health Laboratory, and the Pirbright Institute and representative from OIE RRAP and FAO ECTAD China.

Objectives of the workshop were:

• to discuss and share the experiences and practices on selecting and applying test for ASF and other swine diseases;
• to discuss how to apply laboratory quality control system to maintain accuracy and reliability of the test results under difference situations;
• to discuss and identify basic ways to improve diagnosis of ASF and other swine diseases (PRRS, CSF).
