Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global threat to human health, as well as health of animals and environment. Since the establishment of AMR Global Action Plan in 2015, national plans have been published and implemented. This seminar provided an update on the latest efforts in approaches and researches to reduce antimicrobial use in terrestrial and aquatic animals.
The seminar was held in a hybrid format by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Collaborating Centre for Food Safety (a consortium since 2014 of the School of Veterinary Medicine, Rakuno Gakuen University; Research Center for Food Safety, University of Tokyo; and the National Centre for Food Science, Singapore Food Agency) with support from WOAH Regional Representation for Asia and the Pacific.
This is the third in a regional webinar series on various emerging topics related to food safety, based on the expertise of the three organisations. The first of the series, “Production, evaluation and regulation of cultured meat,” aired on 29 August 2023 and the second of the series, “Understanding allergy of livestock products,” aired on 25 October 2023.
A recording of the event is now available below.
