Dear Participants of the 33rd Conference of the Regional Commission for Asia and the Pacific, here you will find information regarding visa requirements for travel to the conference.

Visa requirements

Please find the visa requirements information received from the Government of India below:

As on 14th September 2023

The Government of lndia has bilateral Visa Exemption Agreements for holders of diplomatic / official / service passports with a number of countries. The details can be found at https://www.mea.gov.in/bvfa-menu.htm. As on date there are 97 countries with whom the Government of India has a Visa Waiver agreement on Diplomatic & Official Passport holders and 33 Countries with whom the Government of India has a Visa Waiver agreement for Diplomatic passports only. Holders of diplomatic / official passports of the aforementioned countries are exempted from visa requirements for short stays (30/60/90 days as applicable).

  1. All other delegates (from countries with which lndia does not have a bilateral visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic/official/service passports) and intending to travel using diplomatic/official/service passports will be issued appropriate visas on gratis basis, to attend the event which will be made available on the basis of confirmed invitation of the delegate. Delegates may submit a copy of the invitation along with the visa form to the concerned lndian Mission or Consulate, for affixing the appropriate lndian visa. ln such cases application for diplomatic/official Visas may be made at the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in. (lt may be noted that e-Visa cannot be applied on Diplomatic / Official Passports).
  2. Delegates traveling on ordinary passports are to apply for conference/Business visa,(Regular/Paper visa) from the lndian Missions or Consulates accredited in their respective countries of residence or nearest lndian Missions or Consulates. This will be issued on payment basis.
  3. Ordinary passport holders from eligible countries can also apply for e-Conference or e­business Visa (on payment basis, as applicable) at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in (list of eligible countries fore-visa can be found at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html).
  4. Delegates from UN / Other International Organizations holding Diplomatic/Official Passports or United Nations Laissez Passer (UNLP) may apply to the nearest lndian Mission for getting the appropriate Visa. lt may be noted that e-Visa facility is not available for International travel document holders like UN Passport, etc. These Visas will always be issued on a Gratis basis.
  5. Nationals of Nepal and Bhutan do not require a Visa to enter lndia. However, it is also advised to go through the detailed guidelines provided in the weblink: https://boi.gov.in/content/visa-requirement.
  6. All delegates may ensure that their passports have at least six months validity, minimum of two blank passport pages for validation, and identical information between the country represented and the holder’s nationality.
