At the 8th Asia-Pacific Workshop on Multi-sectoral Collaboration at the Animal-Human-Ecosystems Interface in 2019, the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration for the role of wildlife in zoonotic/emerging diseases was emphasized. The 9th Asia-Pacific Workshop on Multi-sectoral Collaboration at the Animal-Human-Ecosystems Interface will be held virtually in November 2021. A series of side events has been organized to allow better representation of key issues, including this webinar which focused on the issue of Wildlife Health relating to One Health.
This webinar—organised by the Regional Tripartite jointly with UNEP—on 8th September 2021 gave an orientation on the series of the new guidance and tools from the Tripartite targeting relevant sectors, shared experiences on addressing wildlife health from Members in the region, and also provided an opportunity to discuss how to increase multi-sectoral coordination mechanisms to increase cooperation amongst the different sectors and stakeholders to improve wildlife health for One Health across the Asia-Pacific Region.
