The 7th meeting of East Asia Wildlife Health Network was held on 16th March 2023.
A new secretariat member, Dr Sol Jeong, was introduced. She is from the National Institute of Wildlife Disease Prevention and Control, Republic of Korea.
There were two main agenda points in the 7th meeting, the first was to make presentations regarding “Mpox”. We invited Dr Kentaro Yamada from University of Miyazaki, Japan to make a presentation on the topic; he kindly agreed to share the presentation file.
The second point on the agenda was the latest information exchange among the network members. The participants from People’s Republic of China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong SAR and Republic of Korea were kindly shared the latest information of wildlife health issues.
It was decided that the topic for the 8th meeting will be “Disease as threats to endangered wildlife species” and the date will be 16 June 2023.
