WOAH has regularly organised seminars for the National Focal Points for Veterinary Products, to enhance understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and the standards-setting process. These workshops also support Member compliance with WOAH international standards. A previous seminar was conducted online from April 25 to 26, 2022, targeting Focal Points across the Asia Pacific region due to the COVID pandemic. These workshops have been instrumental in equipping National Focal Points with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively oversee veterinary products, ensuring compliance with international standards and addressing critical issues such as antimicrobial and antiparasitic resistance.
This seminar is scheduled to take place in the Republic of Korea from October 21 to 23, 2025. This event will build upon insights gained from previous seminars and emphasize various aspects of veterinary medicine quality, aligning with the recommendations from the 2nd WOAH Global Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance and Prudent Use of Antimicrobial Agents in Animals: Putting Standards into Practice. As with past training sessions, experts from WOAH Collaborating Centres (WOAH CCs) will provide technical support for the seminar.
