Regional perspectives on wildlife health in Asia and the Pacific 

• Note: Wildlife health and One Health stakeholders from across Asia and the Pacific and beyond are warmly invited to join the session online. 

Wildlife health is an integral component of One Health, connecting the health of wildlife, domestic animals, people and ecosystems. Effective wildlife health systems depend not only on technical capacity, but also on collaboration and information sharing across sectors and disciplines. 

The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) is convening a regional One Health session on wildlife health on 29 October 2026, as part of the Regional Seminar for WOAH Focal Points for Wildlife in Asia and the Pacific in Bengaluru, India. 

The session will bring together perspectives from animal health, wildlife health and public health, highlighting practical examples and experiences from the Asia-Pacific region. Topics will include integration of wildlife health into One Health approaches, antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial use, zoonotic diseases, and opportunities to strengthen regional capacity and collaboration. 

The session will be held in hybrid format, allowing additional wildlife health and One Health stakeholders from across the region to participate online.
