Recognizing the growing concern regarding the spread of LSD in Asia and the Pacific Region, the WOAH Regional Representation for Asia and the Pacific (RRAP) organised a workshop on lumpy skin disease (LSD) for the Asia and Pacific Region in Manila, Philippines, this July 2025. This workshop convened relevant stakeholders from participating WOAH Members in the Asia and the Pacific region for an in-person workshop focused on building capacity and strengthening regional collaborations in the prevention and control of LSD and other TADs. The workshop also included a specific session to discuss and update the ASEAN LSD Prevention and Control Strategy (ALPCS).
The event also featured regional breakout sessions for South East Asia and South Asia, which was valuable platforms for multilateral discussions and sustainable cooperation within the sub-regions, not only for LSD but for various other animal disease concerns.
The overall objective of this workshop was to develop tangible outputs and roadmaps on strengthening the sub-regional mechanism to prevent, detect and respond to TADs in the sub-region.
