The 8th meeting of East Asia Wildlife Health Network was held on 16th June 2023.
There were two main agenda items in the 8th meeting, the first was the presentation regarding “Disease as threats to endangered wildlife species”. We invited Dr Kosuke OKUYA from Kagoshima University, Japan. Dr Okuya was in charge of HPAI diagnosis during mass mortality events of endangered cranes in Izumi last winter. He shared valuable information with us. And Dr Okuya kindly agreed to share the presentation file.
The second item was the latest information exchange among the network members. The participants from the People’s Republic of China, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong SAR kindly shared the latest information of wildlife health issues.
It was decided that the topic for the 9th meeting will be “Vaccination for wildlife” and the date of the 9th meeting will be September 27, 2023.
