Dr Ronello Abila
Sub-Regional Representative
In 1997, WOAH (then the OIE) and the Kingdom of Thailand signed an agreement to establish a WOAH Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) for the South-East Asia Foot-and-Mouth Disease (SEAFMD) Campaign in Bangkok. The SEAFMD Campaign has been coordinating the sub-regional efforts on FMD control since its establishment in 1994. With increasing activities beyond the SEACFMD programme, WOAH and the Government of Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding for establishing the WOAH Sub-Regional Representation for South-East Asia (SRR-SEA) in Bangkok, Thailand in 2010. The WOAH SRR-SEA has further expanded its mandate as a WOAH Representation to support and collaborate with WOAH Members in South-East Asia for the improvement of animal health and welfare.
The staff responsibilities chart of WOAH SRR-SEA is available here.
