Tokyo (Japan), 14 April 2022 — The inaugural meeting of the South Asia wildlife health network was held virtually on 14 April. Participants met online to discuss the Terms of Reference for the network and to kickstart wildlife health information sharing.
This milestone for the South Asia sub-region is also a key piece of the wildlife health networking jigsaw in the Asia and the Pacific region. Similar networks also exist for East Asia, the Pacific, and South East Asia. They allow exchange of information and expertise both within the sub-regions and across the region, building capacity for wildlife health throughout Asia and the Pacific.
Many activities are undertaken in South Asia relating to wildlife health surveillance. Please see the presentation below for examples in Nepal.
