Recruiting consultants: animal disease surveillance & safe trade (remote)

WOAH Sub-Regional Representation for South-East Asia is seeking experts to support work on animal disease surveillance and safe trade

To support ongoing efforts to strengthen animal health systems and facilitate safe international trade, WOAH has launched two new calls for individual consultants. These consultancies aim to reinforce Members’ capacities in animal disease surveillance and in applying WOAH standards for safe trade. Interested experts are encouraged to review the summaries below and consult the full Terms of Reference for further details.

 

Individual Consultant – Animal Disease Surveillance

  • Support WOAH activities to strengthen Members’ capacity in animal disease surveillance.
  • Review national and regional surveillance guidelines, SOPs, protocols, and identify gaps to align with WOAH standards.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating surveillance strategies in countries.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in Members’ surveillance systems.
  • Contribute to evidence-based approaches that enhance early detection, monitoring, and safe trade facilitation.

Individual consultant for expertise with animal disease surveillance, SRR SEA, WOAH

 

Individual Consultant – Expertise on Safe Trade

  • Support implementation of WOAH activities that strengthen Members’ capacity to apply WOAH standards for safe trade of animals and animal products.
  • Provide technical support for organising regional trainings, workshops, and webinars on WOAH trade‑related standards.
  • Develop technical materials and resources tailored to regional and national contexts to improve safe trade practices.
  • Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and report on WOAH meetings and events related to safe trade.
  • Work closely with the WOAH Sub‑Regional Representation for South‑East Asia (Bangkok).
