As part of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2021 (#WAAW2021), the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) presented activities in the region addressing the issue of antimicrobial resistance (#AMR). This virtual meeting celebrated the successful conclusion of week-long events highlighting the issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the Asia-Pacific region.
“AMR Storytellers from the Asia-Pacific“ also highlighted the role of One Health in the region. We welcomed all those working in or studying animal health, food safety, public health, and sustainable practices for the environment. With events like these, our goal is to mobilize professionals, students, and broader society to understand and promote the responsible use of antimicrobials.
