Biosafety and Biosecurity in Asia and the Pacific

Header

WOAH hosted a webinar on “Biosafety and Biosecurity in Asia and the Pacific: Emerging Issues & Regional Priorities”.

Biological threats—whether naturally occurring, accidental, or deliberate—continue to evolve in complexity, driven by increased human–animal–environment interfaces, global connectivity and rapid technological advances. Veterinary Services and animal health systems play a critical frontline role in detecting, preventing and responding to these risks, particularly at the health–security interface.

This regional webinar provided an introductory and dialogue-oriented forum on biosafety and biosecurity in Asia and the Pacific. It highlighted regional perspectives, promoted cross-sectoral understanding and aligned discussions with global frameworks. The webinar also included an interactive online survey to capture high-level regional priorities and gaps, with aggregated findings intended to inform regional follow-up and contribute to global discussions.
