
The 13th FAO/WOAH Regional Steering Committee Meeting of GF-TADs for Asia and the Pacific, was held on 22 September 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia as a side event to the 34th Conference of the Regional Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
The meeting was led by the President of the WOAH Regional Commission for Asia and the Pacific, along with members of the Regional Steering Committee who are representatives from four sub-regions, namely, East Asia, South East Asia, South Asia, and the Pacific. Representatives of the Regional Economic Communities, as well as technical and funding partners, also attended the meeting.
The Committee last met in Tokyo, Japan in 2023 where it finalized the GF-TADs Regional Strategy 2023 – 2027, in sync the GF-TADs Global Strategy, and developed two-year subregional workplans. In this year’s meeting, the committee delved on updating the RSC on TADs activities/initiatives conducted at the global, regional and sub-regional levels during the past two years, discussed and reviewed the many changes that have occurred in recent years that may impact the GF-TADs mechanism, and eventually agreed on and made recommendations on the committee will moved forward especially on pressing issues, including action points to revise the Regional GF-TADs strategy
