Orangutan Veterinary Advisory Group Workshop

Header

27 Jul 2023 (Indonesia) – The Orangutan Veterinary Advisory Group (OVAG) is working to address One Health concerns in orangutan welfare, conservation, and health.

Since 2009, OVAG organises annual workshops to build a network of veterinarians and animal health stakeholders to achieve these objectives in all range countries of orangutans.

The 2023 edition is held in Denpasar, Indonesia, from 23 to 27 July. On this occasion, WOAH is invited along with the Regional Wildlife Health Network, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and the Wildlife Disease Association (WDA) to improve cooperation and share expertise on wildlife conversation and health.

The workshop was co-organised by the WOAH Collaborating Centre for Wildlife Health Risk Management at Wildlife Health Australia.
