Disease notification timeline

Six-month reports and an annual report (and the wildlife annual report on non-listed diseases, on a voluntary basis) should be sent by each Member during a given year. Moreover, immediate notifications and follow-up reports should be sent in case of exceptional epidemiological event. The submission time and the Focal Point in charge are specific to each kind of report. All the reports should be completed and submitted to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, founded as OIE) under the supervision of the Delegate, through the WAHIS system.

The expected submission times for each report are:

  • Six-month reports (for terrestrial and aquatic animal diseases): Within 1 month after the end of a semester, i.e. by the end of January and July.
  • Annual report: Within 1.5 months after the end of the year, i.e. by the middle of February.
  • Wildlife annual report on non WOAH-listed diseases: On a voluntary basis, after the end of the year.
