The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, founded as OIE), with the support of UK Aid and The Fleming Fund, developed a new video in time for World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2022.
Antimicrobial resistance, or AMR, has become one of the most pressing health issues of our time. Solutions exist and everyone has a role to play to address this global threat. Watch the video to learn more.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Health Organization (WHO), and WOAH, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) developed a video to raise awareness on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). AMR is a huge global problem which threatens our ability to combat infections in both humans and animals.
The Regional Tripartite and partners identified AMR as a key priority which requires a One Health approach, with multisectoral collaboration. Organisations and sectors are therefore working together in the region and globally to tackle the issue.

A video in two languages was released on 6th July 2020, in association with a publication from UNEP on “Preventing future zoonotic disease outbreaks: protecting the environment, animals and people in a post-COVID-19 world”.
There are three key messages in the videos:

As part of the Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) project to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Cambodia, WOAH in collaboration with the General Directorate of Animal Health and Production (GDAHP) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Cambodia developed awareness and advocacy videos on AMR.
These are designed to bring behavioural changes among poultry and fishery farmers on the prudent use of antibiotics in poultry and fish farms in Cambodia, in an effort to reduce unnecessary use of antibiotics.

A video on the case of resistant E. coli bacteria met by chicken farmers in Indonesia. The video emphasises the tragic consequences of bacteria that no longer respond to common drugs.
