In 2015, the World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO) adopted a global action plan on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and urged all WHO Member States to develop National Action Plans on AMR.
The next year in 2016, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, founded as OIE) launched a global strategy on AMR and prudent use of antimicrobials. This plan furthered a commitment towards providing support for WOAH Members’ Veterinary Services, building capacity and developing National Action Plans for AMR.
To facilitate information exchange and to monitor progress, the WOAH Regional Representation for Asia and the Pacific (WOAH RRAP) created a library of existing Members’ National Action Plans for AMR. The National Action Plans were either downloaded from the library of national action plans managed by WHO (as of 29 March 2020) or provided by WOAH Members. The library will be updated regularly as new information becomes available. Members are encouraged to share with WOAH and “Regional Tripartite” partners (WHO and FAO) when plans are updated or new ones are developed.
